Amy Grissette is President and CEO of 4 My Kids Records, Inc. From an early age, Amy has always used her God-given talents to help and encourage children. She has received several honors including being elected the first African American Junior High School Council District Representative for Cook County, IL; (1987) winning a gold medal in the International Set A Good Example Contest for her work in establishing a teen support group named T.H.E.O. (Teens Helping Each Other) in which she received congratulations from Nancy Reagan; (1988) winning runner up in the Miss TEEN Illinois beauty pageant; and (1989) winning the title Miss Elkdom of the World sponsored by the National Elks Association.
From 1990-1992, Amy was awarded 1st place winner in the category of dramatics, classical instrumental and vocals in the NAACP/ACT-SO competition where she represented the southwestern suburbs of Chicago at the national level. In 1991, she played the lead role of T. Levine in the critically acclaimed production “A Place To Be Me” at Chicago’s ETA Theater.
After graduating from the University of Chicago, Amy’s passion for children led her into the field of education where she taught and tutored students, ages 2 to 21 years of age, from all socioeconomic backgrounds. As an Education Specialist, Amy had the opportunity to work as Associate Director for Bronzeville Alternative Academic Center in Chicago, Illinois where she created and implemented programs that dramatically increased the graduation percentile of former dropout students by 80% within the first academic year of her position. After leaving Bronzeville Alternative Academic Center, she worked as Education Specialist for Ada S. McKinley and Olive-Harvey College.
In 1998, Amy married award-winning songwriter and producer, Steve Grissette. In celebration of the birth of their two children, Amy and Steve founded 4 My Kids Records, Inc., a children’s record label. The company’s debut lullaby CD, “Promise of Peace”, received critical acclaim from EBONY Magazine and Gospel-Flava.
From the tender age of four, Amy has always dreamed of becoming an active participant in the medical field. Currently, she is pursuing her dreams. Amy is a licensed Registered Nurse. She plans to continue advanced education all the way to the Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner.
For over 20 years, Steve Grissette has worked in the music industry. Steve is an accomplished artist, songwriter and producer who has worked on many gold and platinum albums including 98 Degrees, Regina Belle and The Dead Presidents movie sound track.
Steve has written, produced and/or performed with such artists as Nick Lachey (from 98 Degrees), Randy Jackson (from American Idol), Fred Hammond, Howard Hewitt, Billie Beck (Ohio Players), Peter Cetera, Kashif, Kerry Livgren (Kansas), Marlon Jackson (Michael Jackson's brother), Lauren Frost (Barbara Streisand's Protégé), Walter Afanasieff, Pops Staples, Mavis Staples, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Jeffrey Osborne, Commissioned, Marvin Sapp, R. Kelly, Michael Omartian, Richard Marx, St. Paul Peterson (from Prince's The Family), Brian Simpson, Brian Culbertson, The late Rev. James Cleveland, Steve Cole, Donnie McClurkin, Todd Sucherman (drummer for Styx), Alan Gorie (AWB), David Hollister and Tramaine Hawkins just to name a few. His voice has been heard on many TV and radio commercials like Big K-Mart's "Get Down Blue Light", Kraft's "Deluxe", Wrigley's "Big Red Gum", McDonald's, Diet 7-Up and Payless Shoes "Doo Wop" .
For years, Steve's unforgettable soulful R&B style has made him one of the most sought after lead male vocalists for many of Chicago's hottest mainstream orchestras and bands. Due to popular demand, Steve started the Steve Grissette Orchestra which is a phenomenal mix of Jazz, R&B and Pop musicians and singers who have worked with the likes of Beyonce Knowles and Destiny's Child, The Emotions, Backstreet Boys and the late Miles Davis. Every SGO performance has wowed audiences across the Midwest and beyond.
Steve is the Founder of Coach House Productions, Inc. and VP of 4 My Kids Records, Inc.
Steve and Amy reside in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with their two children. They are deeply committed to their faith and building a legacy for their children’s children. Their mantra is “all things are possible to those who believe”.
